Jenoseel Primer -
Rusty Steel
The highly advanced formulation of Jenoseel actually uses rust, forming an inert
long-
1. Remove all scale and heavy rust by scraping, chipping or whatever technique is appropriate.
2. Scrape and wire-
3. Make sure there are no remaining traces of oily or greasy contaminants.
4. The surface must be clean and free of moisture and dust.
5. Apply the selected Jenoseel system.
3. Apply the selected Jenoseel system. (If in doubt, apply a small check area, leave 24 hrs and then check.)
Where this is suspected, follow this simple procedure:
1. Prepare surface as above.
2. Wash down all areas with copious amounts of clean water (high pressure is recommended) and allow to dry.
3. Apply the selected Jenoseel system, washing down and drying between coats if necessary.
Jenoseel may be applied over most tightly adherent and aged paint systems except for those based on bitumen, pitch or chlorinated rubber. In these cases, spot priming alone may be satisfactory.
1. Thoroughly scrape and wire-
2. Then proceed as for Rusty Steel (above).
GENERAL NOTES
Whilst shot-
SA2 (commercial) standard of finish is sufficient for the application of Jenoseel.
Recent tests have shown that the coarse profile left by more rigorous shot-
If wet-
The outstanding adhesion of Jenoseel enables easy application over weathered galvanised surfaces
Prepare as for Existing Paint, taking particular care to ensure that all loose galvanising is removed and to very thoroughly abrade the remainder. Wire brushing will not generally be sufficient.
3. Temperature and Humidity
Do not apply at a steel-
Relative Humidity should not be above 90% and steel temperatures should be 2°C above
the dew-
